Terms & Conditions
Health & Medical Conditions
Procedures within the grooming environment can be stressful for some dogs, especially for senior, young, overweight dogs or those with medical concerns. The process may expose unknown medical conditions or aggravate a current one during or after the groom. In the best interest of your pet this agreement will give Martha’s Mutts permission to seek emergency veterinary treatment if we deem it necessary for whatever reason. We will do our best to contact you first, however this may not always be feasible.
Whilst we always exercise caution and care when grooming, dogs can be unpredictable and sometimes accidents happen. By booking your dog in for a groom, you consent to your groomer applying emergency first-aid treatment as appropriate. We will always notify you of any such incidents.
Unless we are deemed to be negligent all medical expenses are the responsibility of the owner.
Vaccinations
By using our services, you confirm that your dog is up to date with their annual vaccinations against Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, and Canine Parvovirus. An unvaccinated dog may put itself and others at risk. Martha’s Mutts takes no responsibility for any dog that may contract any of the aforementioned diseases.
Martha’s Mutts may ask for proof of vaccination and veterinary information which must be provided.
Fleas & Ticks
Martha’s Mutts is proud to be a tick / flea free environment. If your dog is known to have a parasitic infestation, we ask that your grooming appointment is rescheduled to a time when your pet has been cleared by their vet. You must give at least 48 hours’ notice in order to avoid a cancellation charge. We recommend that you contact your veterinary surgeon to provide you with the best treatment plan.
If fleas are found on your dog at any point during the groom, you will be contacted immediately to collect your pet. A flea infestation may cause temporary suspension of Martha’s Mutts’ services, therefore a £30 surcharge will be added to the grooming bill to cover the expense of additional disinfection measures required.
Coat Condition
Martha’s Mutts practices humanity over vanity. If we are presented with a neglected coat and believe it is kinder to remove the coat than it is to de-mat, this will be done in accordance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006. Whilst we will make every effort to identify this as part of the pre-groom consultation and coat assessment, there may be occasions where the degree of matting cannot be fully identified until we commence the groom.
In this event we will make every effort to contact you. However, if this is not possible, we will do what we believe is in the best interest of the welfare of the dog.
You understand that Martha’s Mutts is not liable for any cuts, irritation or other injuries caused by shaving off or de-matting your dog, nor for other injuries that may have been hidden by matted hair, and that the desired style discussed for your dog may not be achieved due to poor coat condition.
Additional charges may be incurred due to the wear on equipment, additional products used, as well as time and skill needed to remove matting.
Behavioural Charges
Aggression
Owners must inform Martha’s Mutts of any known aggressive behaviour traits their pet may have to other animals or humans. We reserve the right to refuse service if we believe your dog may become a danger to itself or others. In the event any of these behaviours present during the groom the session may stopped at any time and the full fee incurred.
Nervous/Anxious Dogs
Although Martha’s Mutts grooms dogs with nervous traits, owners must inform us of any such behaviours so that we can cater to their needs accordingly.
Behavioural charges will be decided by Martha’s Mutts depending on the severity of the behaviour and the time, skill, and equipment required to groom the dog. If your dog should bite, you agree to be responsible for all related medical bills, loss of earnings and equipment damage.

General
Martha’s Mutts is a mobile dog grooming service operating out of a fully equipped van. The customer is responsible for providing a large enough parking space and access to electricity. Any parking charge / permit is the customer’s responsibility, as are any fines incurred if the permit isn’t valid. 50% of the grooming fee will be charged if no parking space is arranged, or access to electricity isn’t provided, to cover my time and travel.
Martha’s Mutts is unable to groom pregnant dogs or females that are in season. Should your dog be in season during the time of a pre-booked appointment, 48 hours’ notice must be provided where possible to avoid the cancellation charge noted above.
The owner agrees for photographs of their dog to be taken and used on Martha’s Mutts’ website and social media.
Hold Harmless Agreement
By using our services, you agree to hold Martha’s Mutts, its owners, employees, and directors harmless from any damage, loss, or claim arising from any condition of the dog, either known or unknown to them. You understand and agree the terms of this agreement can change at any time, without notice, and will overwrite any prior versions. You understand this clause applies to any and all dogs groomed.
You must read and accept the Terms and Conditions before your dog can be groomed:
